Jessica Rose McVay is a London based director, movement director, producer, and founder of Jessica Rose McVay Productions Ltd. She is a graduate of UCLA’s School of Theater Film and Television with a BA in Theater Arts with a specialization in direction, and a minor in Asian Humanities, and of Bristol Old Vic Theatre School where she earned her MA in Drama Directing, and won the Elsa Roberts Directing Award for her production of Sarah Kane’s Crave.

Jessica is passionate about collaborative, ensemble-based work focusing on underrepresented and unheard voices.  In the United States Jessica has worked on Broadway, Guthrie Theater, Victory Gardens Theater, Jungle Theatre, Children’s Theatre Company, Ars Nova, Balcony Theatre, and Open Eye Figure Theater. In the U.K. she has worked at the Bristol Old Vic, Redgrave Theatre, Wardrobe Theatre, and White Bear Theatre. In 2013 Jessica spent the winter in Taganrog, Russia co-directing Romeo And Juliet, which also toured in Italy, and creating and directing a studio piece based on the experiences of the international acting company entitled … Or What I Found Across The Border

Jessica is currently working on a modernized adaptation of The Great Gatsby which focuses on the main characters’ mass emigration in search of vast wealth, and freedom from social restraints, and in the process their objectification and use of the native people of their new home. 

She is an Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society in the U.S., and a Member of Stage Directors U.K..
